Year 3

Weekly Update of w/e 17th November 2017

This week the children have had the chance to write their own stories based on a picture stimulus. They enjoyed planning these and having the freedom to let their imaginations run wild! In maths we have been looking at angles this week. The children learnt that an angle is a measure of turn and have been identifying right angles around the classroom. We also looked at angles that are greater and smaller than right angles.

Next week……

We will be beginning to look at a new unit of work on play scripts; with children having the opportunity for lots of collaborative work and to take part in some drama activities.

We will be looking at different kinds of lines; predominantly focusing on perpendicular and parallel lines.

English homework this week we would like you to complete pg. 29 task P6b and P6c.

Maths homework this week will be a MyMaths activity on practising your 3 times table.

Can you find out the meaning of the words horizontal and vertical. Can you draw, or be prepared to share three examples of a horizontal line and three examples of a vertical line that you might see in your house?

Please ensure your child reads at least three times per week at home. Please also sign their reading record so they can move up our Reading Challenge Ladder each week.

PE Slots

Monday afternoon (indoor) and Tuesday afternoon (outdoor.) Please ensure children have a full PE kit, including trainers, which should be kept in school all week.
