Year 3

Weekly Update of w/e 29th June 2018

This week in maths we have begun learning about time; we have looked at the number of days in each month and 5 minute intervals on clocks. In English we have been reading the story Zeraffa Giraffa and have been writing letters to the King of France, detailing the arrival of his gift, Zeraffa the giraffe.We have also completed some descriptive writing about the settings based on the beautiful illustrations in the book. In topic we have been using atlases to label maps of Europe and have been learning about the human skeleton in science.

Next week……


We will be continuing our work on Zeraffa Giraffa and will be writing a newspaper article describing Zeraffa’s arrival at her new home in Paris.


We will be continuing our work on time; looking at telling the time using exact minutes to and past the hour and will also be exploring Roman numerals.


English homework is task T12 What’s it going to be about? pg. 68. Maths homework is a MyMaths activity recapping Year 2 learning on telling the time in 5 minute intervals.


Please research and find out three facts about a European country of your choice.

PE Slots

Tuesday afternoon (swimming) and Wednesday afternoon (outdoor.) Please ensure children have a full PE kit, including trainers, which should be kept in school all week. Please ensure children’s clothes/swimming kits are labelled with their name or initials.
