Lucy Eckley: Co-opted Governor

Chair of Governors

Lucy became a parent governor in 2010 to give support to a school at the centre of the village community which she feels passionately about. She had two children at the school who are now at Roundwood Park.  She works full time in London running her own business providing strategic recruitment consultancy advice to law firms.  She previously chaired the Resources Committee and served as Vice Chair of Governors until election as Chair in September 2014, in that capacity she attends both the Resources and Curriculum Committees.

She became a Co-Opted Governor when she renewed her four year term of office in 2015.

Lucinda Carney: Co-opted Governor

Vice Chair

Lucinda was co-opted onto the committee in September 2014 because she was keen to provide positive support to the school on its journey of growth. She has two children, one who is now at Roundwood and another currently in year 5. Having previously served a full term as governor in the Infant School at a similar time in its development she is very positive about the future for RJS.  She is Vice Chair of the Governing Body and a member of the curriculum committee and leads on the Headteacher’s Performance Management. Lucinda is a Business Psychologist, with a career in HR and Learning and Development. She currently runs a growing HR software and training business.

Mark Hill: Parent Governor

Mark works part-time as a policy advisor for a health charity and has a daughter in year 4 and a son who will join the school in 2017.  Due to working part time Mark has the motivation and time to contribute to help with the successful running of the school.  He has been involved as a parent helper with both Redbourn Infant School and Redbourn Junior School ever since his children started in reception including, reading, helping on school trips and manning stands. Mark sees being a governor as an extension of this help.

Graham Lane: Local Authority Governor

Graham is the MD of Cheeky Munkey Limited, an IT support company based in St Albans. Graham is actively involved with the St Albans Chamber of Commerce for some 12 years and is now a Director after serving as President.

Graham has a particular passion for education and is Vice Chair at Oaklands College and a Director for Herts 4 Learning, Herts for Learning Multi Academy Trust and the University Campus St Albans.  Graham also sits on the board for Hertfordshire’s Local Enterprise Partnership and chairs Hertfordshire’s Growth Hub

Angela McCarthy: Parent Governor

Angela became a parent governor in October 2015. With two children at the school, she wanted to support the school as it moves forward with a new team. She works as an Account Manager for an Online Retailer and has spent the past 20 years working in Retail and IT.  Angela loves living in Redbourn and enjoys contributing to the local community. She spent the past 5 years volunteering as a Leader of one of the Redbourn Beaver groups before volunteering to become a governor.

Marc Palmer: Co-opted Governor

Marc and his family moved to Redbourn in 2009. He’s father to three boys, one at RJS and two at Redbourn Infants. Marc joined the team as a Co-Opted Governor in October 2015, hoping to make a positive contribution to the development of the School using some of the skills he’s learned throughout his business career.
